Rebecca Newman was born in Chicago and grew up
in New York City and Denver. She attended Yale College where she studied
painting with William Bailey, Bernard Chaet, and Chuck Close, printmaking
with Gabor Peterdi, and photography with Walter Rosenblum and Walker
After receiving her B.A. in Fine Arts cum laude in 1973, she lived in Spain and traveled in Europe where she continued her studies of painting, printmaking, and drawing. She has lived and worked in Los Angeles since 1975.
